पीएस 37 क्यू परिवार से मिलो!

Dear Cynthia Jenkins School Students and Families,

It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as Assistant Principal of The Cynthia Jenkins School, P.S. 37Q.  It is a privilege and an honor to work in a school with such an inspiring Principal, persevering students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community.  I feel very blessed to be part of this school and to support the students and families.

I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than twenty years.  I have worked with students ranging in age from Kindergarten through 12th grade in a variety of roles. I have already reconnected with some of you who knew me as an English teacher at I.S.59Q where my career in education started.  I am thrilled to bring my skills as an educational leader to the Cynthia Jenkins School and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.

On a personal note, I am a product of District 29 myself having attended P.S.176Q and I.S.59Q. I stayed in the area for High School as well attending August Martin H.S. before heading off to SUNY Stony Brook. Shortly after I graduated from Stony Brook, I returned to share what I had learned as well as my heart with the students of District 29. I have always believed in District 29 because it values high standards by providing rich learning experiences for all students.

I view education as a life-long process and expect that I will continue to learn much about the uniqueness of P.S.37Q this year and in the years to come.

Most importantly, I bring a belief that students are at the center of all school-related decisions.  I am excited to unite my experience, my openness to learn, and my child-centered approach to support our students.  Because the relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students, I encourage you to become involved in every way possible.  I look forward to meeting you soon!

Sincerely,

Mr. Robert Young Jr.

Assistant Principal
